My main focus of research is Quantum Error Correction (QEC), and I'm especially interested in designing QEC protocols for realistic quantum devices. One example of the research I lead is this paper on "Tangling schedules", where we invented a method that generates long-range entanglement on quantum hardware with restricted connectivity, thereby providing a novel tool for performing QEC.

Before I joined Riverlane in 2021, I was a Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellow in pure mathematics, mostly working on Hilbert space operator theory and geometry. I focused especially on generalising Wigner's theorem, which gradually led me towards quantum computing. I have found my pure maths research experience extremely useful in my current, highly applied maths/physics work.
